Jakarta, 14 June 2024 – Bukit Technology Digital has just held a workshop entitled “Software Testing – QA Workshop” with Felicia Kartika (Product Quality Senior Manager at BliBli) and Winda Wijaya (Software Development Engineer in Test at BliBli) which aims to develop skills employees in the field of Quality Assurance. This workshop lasts for one full day with various materials designed to increase participants’ understanding and practical abilit ies in software testing. This workshop was carried out in several stages such as:

Introduction to QA

The workshop began with an introductory session regarding Quality Assurance. The speaker explained the importance of QA in software development and how QA plays a role in ensuring the final product is free from defects. In this session, participants were also invited to understand the differences between QA, Quality Control (QC), and Testing.

Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)

After the opening session, participants were invited to explore the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC). The speaker explained each stage of SDLC, starting from planning, analysis, design, development, testing, to maintenance. Participants are given a comprehensive overview of how the software development process takes place and where QA plays an important role in each of these stages.

Testing Design Techniques

Entering the next session, the material discussed is test design techniques. The speaker introduces various methods and approaches in designing tests, such as black-box testing, white-box testing, and gray-box testing. Participants are taught how to choose the right technique based on the type of software and testing needs.

Test Case Creation

Next, participants were given an explanation about creating test cases. In this session, the presenter shows systematic steps for creating effective and efficient test cases. Participants are taught how to identify test scenarios, determine input, expect output, and write down detailed test steps.

Workshop: Creating Test Cases

This session is a practical activity where participants are given the opportunity to directly apply the knowledge they have acquired. In small groups, participants are asked to create test cases based on a given case study. The guest speakers circle around providing guidance and input to each group.

Test Case Evaluation

In closing, each group was asked to present the test case they had created. The presenter and facilitator evaluate the participants’ work and provide constructive feedback. The event ended with a question and answer session and a short discussion about the challenges faced during the practicum and ways to overcome them.

The “Software Testing – QA Workshop” workshop is one of the company’s efforts to improve the development of employee quality and competency, especially in the field of Quality Assurance.
